Tender Veal Hot Pot

When a hearty meal is called for, Vietnamese veal hot pot (Bo To Nhung Dam)  is a great choice. Unlimited plates of finely sliced, tender veal marinated in lemongrass and vegetables are dipped into a simmering vinegar soup flavoured with purple onion and chilli, accompanied by a ginger fish sauce and a pungent fermented fish sauce – Mam Nem mixed with pineapple and chilli.

This meal was enjoyed at  a restaurant called Bo to Xuan Dao located on Nguyen Giao Street in Cu Chi province. There are many copy cat versions of this restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City.
